Hi, I am Tara

And yup, I’ve been there.

Here’s one thing I’ll never forget from working in corporate communications: the higher I climbed, the more isolated I felt. (Ironic, right?)

I was the one executives called when things were sensitive. The one trusted with decisions that could go sideways. And yet (again and again) I was brought in after the decision was already made. Asked to resolve a crisis that never had to happen. To communicate something I could have shaped… if only someone had thought to loop me in sooner.

And I was doing it completely alone.

No peers who understood the real complexity of what I was navigating. No room to pressure-test decisions before they were set in motion. Just me, figuring it out, because that’s what I’d always done.

I didn’t have a room of women who got it. Who understood the stakes, the politics, the exhaustion of being the most informed person in the building and still being treated like an afterthought. (Nevermind the frustrations of being a woman in this field… if you know you know.)

I built Raise the Tide because that room didn’t exist. And because I know what it costs to keep figuring it out alone… and the shifts that can happen when you find your people.

Now, you don’t need to figure this out alone. You don’t have to edit yourself to do your work well. You deserve to be expected in the conversation… not just invited to it.
